How to get an appointment?

All clinical requests made via telephone or at reception are added to a triage list. This process ensures that each request is handled with the appropriate clinical accuracy.

After triage, a clinician will contact the patient directly to provide appropriate advice, treatment, or arrange a suitable appointment if needed.

All online clinical advice requests added via the Online Consultation Platform (SystmConnect) will also be added to the triage list and will receive the same level of care and handling.

Please note that reception may book a routine telephone appointment ( via Online Consultation Platform, telephone or at the front desk), however they are unable to book face-to-face appointments directly.

Thank you for helping us provide safe, timely, and effective care for all our patients.

Zero tolerance

Please note that we have a zero tolerance policy towards any abuse or aggression towards our staff. We are committed to providing a respectful environment for everyone, and any form of abuse may result in removal from our patient list.

Remember to cancel your GP appointment if you are no longer able to attend

Each appointment costs an average of £30, putting the total cost to the NHS at more than £216million pounds on top of the disruption for staff and fellow patients that would pay for:

  • The annual salary of 2,325 full time GPs
  • 224, 640 cataract operations
  • 58,320 hip replacement operations
  • 216,000 drug treatment courses for Alzheimer’s
  • The annual salary of 8, 424 full time community nurses

Steps for Patients to Request any Medical Advice Using SystmConnect (online consultation) :

  • Access the Portal:

Use the SystmConnect portal or your GP practice’s version of it (linked to SystmOne). The login details are typically provided by your GP surgery, note this is not mandatory,

  • Navigate to the Medical Advice Section:

Once logged in, you’ll likely see various sections for booking appointments, ordering prescriptions, and requesting medical advice.
Look for the relevant option to you.

  • Fill Out the Form:

You may be asked to fill in a form that requests details about your symptoms, medical history, or the reason for your enquiry.
Provide as much relevant information as possible, including any current medications or conditions.

  • Submit the Request:

Once you’ve completed the form, submit your request. The GP practice will receive the request and respond according to their usual process (which could involve a follow-up phone call, an in-person appointment, or an online response).

  • Receive Advice or Follow-Up:

Your GP will review your request and provide medical advice through the portal or contact you for further consultation, either via phone or by booking a follow-up appointment.
